About Me
Meet Nia Matthews | Founder & Creative Director, NNM MediaI'm Nia Nicole Matthews, a filmmaker, political communications professional, and entrepreneur based in Michigan. My work sits at the intersection of politics, storytelling, and media. I am pursuing degrees in Film Production and International Relations at Oakland University, where I have developed experience in both creative production and political communications.My political communications experience includes working in the U.S. Senate, where I supported digital and press communications for Senator Gary Peters. My work included editing political video content, developing digital communications, creating graphics and social media content, and analyzing digital performance.I've also worked directly in campaign environments and grassroots political organizing, giving me an understanding of the realities campaigns face: tight deadlines, limited resources, changing messages, and the constant need to communicate with voters.As a filmmaker, I approach political advertising differently. I believe political communication should be treated as storytelling. A campaign has a candidate, a message, a community, and a reason for voters to care. My job is to take those elements and turn them into media that people will actually stop and watch.NNM Media was created to bring that approach to campaigns that want to compete in today's increasingly digital political environment. Politics is about people. Media should be, too.
